MDF (fibreboard)
Medium-density fibreboard. It's what you use when the part is for indoor use and shape and price matter most: models, letters, signs, templates, boxes, ornaments and prototypes. It laser cuts cleanly. Two things are worth knowing before ordering: the edge comes out toasted by the cut itself, which is the normal finish and not a defect, and it is NOT an outdoor material. MDF swells with moisture and doesn't recover; for anything that will be outdoors, use acrylic (PMMA).

Toasted edge, ready as it is
The laser leaves a dark edge: it isn't sanded or polished, that's the board's finish and part of the look of the part.
Cut to the exact size
Any size up to 800 × 400 mm with a ±0.5 mm tolerance, and no surcharge for unusual dimensions.
