We buy industrial-grade filament with diameter tolerance controlled batch by batch. That consistency is what lets us promise reliable weight and printing-time figures in the quote.
Our standard PLA. It crystallises faster than generic PLA, which means a better finish, less stringing and greater stiffness. It is the most economical option and the one we recommend by default for prototypes, models and decorative parts.
Formulated with Ingeo 3D870 resin, with impact toughness close to ABS but the printability of PLA. It can be annealed afterwards: after heat treatment, its service temperature rises to around 95 C, ideal for functional parts that must not deform in summer.
PLA made from industrial waste generated during filament production itself. It prints just like the standard version, with a much lower carbon footprint and the lowest price in the catalogue. Colour consistency between batches is lower, so we do not recommend it for visible parts made in series.
PLA formulated for a matte finish and smooth texture, with layer lines far less visible than on glossy PLA. It is the material that hides the fact it was printed best: the part looks moulded rather than printed, without sanding or painting. It supports high print speeds while retaining definition.
A silky, high-gloss finish that looks like polished metal with no post-processing. It is printed a little more slowly to keep the shine even and hides layer lines very well. It is less stiff than standard PLA, so it is intended more for decorative than functional parts.
PLA filled with real wood fibre. The part can be sanded, varnished and stained like wood, and the shade varies slightly depending on the temperature at which it is extruded, creating a natural grain. Abrasive material: it is always printed with a hardened-steel nozzle.
Filled with mineral particles that create a stone-like veining pattern that differs on every part. The finish is matte and very pleasant to the touch, and it hides layer lines almost completely. Abrasive, so it requires a hardened nozzle.
PLA with metallic particles that sparkle under direct light. Widely used for merchandising and event parts, where the sparkle makes up for it not being a structural material. Abrasive.
Phosphorescent filler that stores light and glows in the dark for several minutes. The thicker the perimeter, the stronger the glow, so we recommend increasing to 3 or 4 walls on parts where the effect is the main feature. Very abrasive.
Fine-grain metallic pigment that, once sanded and polished, gives a very convincing cast-metal appearance. Ideal when you want the look of metal without its weight or cost. Abrasive.
The balance between easy printing and performance. It resists moisture, UV and many chemicals, does not become brittle over time and withstands around 75 C. It is our default recommendation for any part that will be outdoors or in contact with water.
The classic industrial thermoplastic: tough, machinable and with good heat resistance. It can be smoothed with acetone vapour for a glossy finish with no layer lines. It requires an enclosed chamber, so we only print it on the X1 Carbon.
The outdoor evolution of ABS: it keeps its colour and mechanical properties after years of sun exposure, where ABS yellows and becomes brittle. It is the material we choose for any part that will live permanently outdoors.
95 Shore A elastomer: flexible, elastic and with excellent abrasion and tear resistance. Its nature means it prints slowly, which makes large parts more expensive, but there is no substitute when the part needs to deform and spring back.
Engineering polyamide with toughness and wear resistance that no PLA or PETG can match. It is the material for gears, living hinges and parts exposed to continuous friction. Hygroscopic: we dry it before every job and supply it in a bag with desiccant.
High-impact polystyrene, lightweight and easy to sand and paint. Its main advantage is that it dissolves in limonene, so on the X1 Carbon with AMS we use it as soluble support for ABS on geometries that are impossible to remove by hand.
Decorative part or model
PLA Ingeo 3D850. The cheapest option, the best finish and the fewest printing problems.
It will be used outdoors
PETG if it needs to handle rain and moderate sun, ASA if it will live outdoors permanently without losing colour.
It will get hot
Annealed PLA 3D870 up to around 95 °C, ABS or ASA up to around 100 °C, and polycarbonate above 110 °C.
It needs to bend or absorb impacts
TPU 95A. It is the only elastomer in the catalogue: flexible, elastic and with very high tear resistance.
