PA
Nylon PA
Engineering polyamide with toughness and wear resistance that no PLA or PETG can match. It is the material for gears, living hinges and parts exposed to continuous friction. Hygroscopic: we dry it before every job and supply it in a bag with desiccant.
What we use it for
Requires an enclosed chamber
This material shrinks as it cools and would lift off the build plate in an open printer. We always manufacture it on the X1 Carbon with the top and door fitted, at no extra cost to you.
Not suitable for outdoor exposure
With continuous sunlight exposure it loses properties and colour. For outdoor use, look at PETG or ASA.
